Got nice turntable at value village needle was broke couldn't find needle for sears model 28679 so I had another headshell off old 70's turntable, and a new cartridge and stylus I just happened to pick up yesterday at antique store still sealed new ( got real good deal there, got electric guitar, guitar stand, nice case, 2 records, and the cartridge and stylus for $65) anyway put it together last night now works great sounds really good. turntable is better than it was new.

King Pleasure double lp!

Went for lunch at subway and had to stop at the thrift store. Way in the back are their CD's, books, etc. I am entering them now but I did get a Tori Amos - Tales of a Librarian 2 disc set, plus two other Tori CD's. I do have passion for Tori since I went to high school with her in Maryland and for two or three years she lived just a few doors down from us. I also got what appears to be a 1981 copy of Movement by New Order, W2 45089. I'm not having much luck finding anything about it. The other CD's are mostly 90's alt music it seems.

I didn't know the price of the CD's. I found a really great box to bring them to the front in on my way, I found a box of albums that looked like was just put out. My first flip through I found nothing; bunches of Greek albums. However, I noticed they were all in almost Mint condition. I opened up Discogs and started searching some cat #'s and found that some were worth some nice green. I ended up with 13 out of about 50. I've already entered them and Max price here says over $200. I'm going to see if my friend that goes to a Greek church can sell them for me.

So, onto the register I go. Nice older man greets me. I said "did you think I got lost back there?" He laughed and said, "looks like it was worth your time". (I probably spent about 40 minutes back there looking through the CD's mostly. So he turns to his right and moves a piece of paper to revel the prices of albums, cassettes, VHS, CD's and books. The moment of truth... the CD's are $2 and the albums are $1. I was like, hmmm... He said, let me get Donovan to help you. I didn't know what to expect. Donovan shows up, a mid 20's manager and he looks over what I have, counts the CD's by two and asked me if I want the box, (it's a nice perfume box with a $3 price tag. I said "not really, unless you want to throw it in". Now, if you add up what's there, the total would be $82 plus tax. I was just standing waiting for the price. He says while putting two hands on the box and slightly pushing it away from him, "$20". I was internally saying "Oh Yeah!" Outwardly I said "Fine". And I got the box! So, for $20 I got 33 CD's and 13 albums. I could part with just one or a couple of the Greek albums to make everything else gravy.

I do shop in this thrift store and have purchased some expense framed pieces and one piece of furniture and I do appreciate their mission to help people. I think they also like to move things that don't move fast since they are always receiving items. It's a win for everyone.

Another CD I got was Pet Shop Boys Release, which I had never seen before as well as a Back 2 the Future 80's compilation CD. The Rubik's cube got me! If you check out my lists, this find is under the List/Folder AVOW.

How My Heart Sings! now that Bill Evans - Riverside Recordings has just arrived. Took 3 days from US to Australia and then ten days to travel a few kms. Maybe it was stuck at At Shelly's Manne-Hole gathering a few Moonbeams. Great looking box. What to listen to first - Waltz for Debby or Sunday at the Village Vanguard? Know What I Mean? Because Everybody Digs Bill Evans and I need to do some Interplay with New Jazz Conceptions and further Explorations to develop a Portrait In Jazz

I picked these up today used at my local go to place. All are in remarkable shape. Even the Alice Cooper, which in my experience seem to take a lot of abuse from the previous owner, are near mint after a thorough cleaning.
